The Golden Globes were last Sunday and this year I was presented with the opportunity to view them like I never have before. My sister and I were invited to a Hollywood viewing party hosted by bloggers Pizzazzerie, Two Peas and Their Pod, and Mod Max Glam with sweets provided by Lindt Chocolate.
I was so so excited to be a part of this since this was the first year that Lindt Chocolate took on the important role of Official Confection of the Golden Globes. The event was held at the Lounge in The Rubix Hollywood, aka the cutest space ever filled with cushy seats, modern art deco and fun black and yellow decor. If you follow me on Snapchat (@cieraworldwide) you saw all the delicious appetizers from City Palate Catering including a flatbread station, bite size chicken and waffles, and a yummy fruit, veggie and cheese selection. Of course all the mouth watering desserts were spread out throughout the venue for us to try and take with us! I ended up taking home four boxes of chocolates, a goodie bag full of bars and truffles, plus their limited edition pralines (these were my favorite!) and am still working on finishing it all. Send help!
Even though I love dressing up, I don’t do it very often and I definitely don’t have the funds to keep purchasing fancy, expensive pieces that I’ll only wear once. That’s why The Stylist LA is such a lifesaver! Last year I borrowed a sparkly sequined Parker dress for the USC fashion show, and when I found out about this glamorous event I knew I had to go to Emily for another dress.
She had so many cute options in the showroom, it was so hard to decide! I knew I wanted to change it up and did not want to go the sequins route again, especially since I wore them so much during the holiday season (see here and here.) My friend Ashley helped me pick out this intricate cobalt blue detailed number from The Jetset Diaries. The color and pattern immediately drew me to this unique dress. I loved that it had a short length and sheer long sleeves, which I don’t normally wear but it felt very appropriate for the occasion. This dress is definitely a showstopper – once I tried it on I felt so red carpet ready and knew it was the one!
