The Fashion Industry Association at USC held their 11th annual FIA fashion show last night at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center Ballroom. My friend Ashley was a part of their marketing team and invited me to come see the show as one of her guests. The first 75 attendees received VIP seating and a VIP gift bag, including coupons for free yogurt from Yogurtland, Dove chocolates, and a raffle ticket. There were a variety of designs showcased from CHINYERE, MORF, Articles of Society, Emmi + Reese, Love on a Hanger, MINKPINK, and The Stylist LA. Some of my personal favorites were MORF, a line of transformable apparel by Madison Boutilier that felt completely fresh and totally wearable, and The Stylist LA, a chic dress rental company full of sparkle and sophistication.
To be completely honest, the show felt a bit disorganized from the beginning- there were no signs directing us to the ballroom, no formal line for VIP, and a few mishaps with the lighting and models coming out in sync. Since I work for a production company, I know that these things happen but I admit I was a little disappointed being that I’m normally backstage and rarely get to actually watch the shows. However the clothes were amazing, the refreshments were delicious and I enjoyed coming out to support Ashley and the FIA so I can’t complain!
Unfortunately, the lighting issues led to me being unable to get many good pictures on my camera. Luckily for me, after the show I got in touch with Adaobi, a fellow blogger who got some amazing shots from the front of the stage! Check out some of the photos below…
