{TTT} Paradise Island, Bahamas

Paradise Island has more than earned its name- it is the closest thing to paradise that you can find anywhere on Earth. The weather is always warm (even when it rains), the sand is soft white, the water is clear turquoise, the locals are friendly, the smoothies are delicious, and the aquatic life is within your reach, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. I have to say, the Bahamas are one of my favourite destinations I have ever been to- and with good reason.

Just like Australia, I had dreamed of going to Atlantis after watching a Mary Kate and Ashley movie (Holiday in the Sun). In the summer of 2012 my family, my friend Ema and I stayed a week in our time share in the Harborside resort at the Atlantis hotel. Of course, we spent most days exploring the hotel and the water park slides and pools.

Inside the hotel there is an underwater aquarium full of native fish and sea mammals.

Sandy Toes was a beautiful private island we went on a day cruise to. There was kayaking, snorkeling, and hammocks to relax on. Ema, Cailyn, my parents and I explored the beach and the rocky coast for the day while sipping tropical fruit punch.

No vacation would be complete without selfies with Ema!

We also went on a snorkeling trip where we saw fish and sharks. Last but not least was my favorite activity- horseback riding on the beach!

I hope to go back to Atlantis next summer on vacation, and hopefully for many more summers to come. Stay tuned for my next Travel Throwback in Vegas next Thursday!
