Hey everyone, long time no talk! I’ve had a hard time keeping my blog updated but I’m trying my best so please bear with me. I think it’s about time to share a little life update… Finals are FINALLY over and I’m heading to Europe in less than a week (so excited!!! please feel free to leave me any suggestions or recommendations) Although I have many exciting opportunities ahead, I’ve had a lot of changes happening over these past few months. I’ve been going through a bit of a rough patch in life lately concerning apartments/roommates/other #adulting things. Although while going through this situation I’ve been faced with many frustrating and disappointing challenges, I have come to realize how it has actually been a blessing in disguise. My boyfriend, family, and friends have really been there for me and God has shown up for me even though at times I felt like he wasn’t hearing me.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
Slowly but surely, I’m learning to let go of my fears, anxiety, and resentment, and instead put all of my faith in Him. God will always provide you with everything you need, even if you might not see it right away. Even when I have spent nights lying awake, overcome with stress and torn over a decision, He has helped to bring me peace when I ask for it. My mom has encouraged me to turn to prayer – but instead of asking for specific things that I want, rather using prayer as a space to ask God to reveal His plan for me. This is a hard thing for a such a control-obsessed perfectionist like me to deal with, but it has honestly brought me a lot of peace. Sometimes, you really do have to just stop and smell the flowers.
Now, onto this outfit! I’ve been a huge fan of American Eagle everything, and their spring/summer collection has been no exception. When I saw this floral maxi romper, I wasn’t sure about how I felt about it… but after trying it on, I was kinda feeling it! I usually can’t wear anything maxi (#shortgirlproblems) but this was surprisingly a great length and fit on me. The slits took a little getting used to, but I was happy to take a style risk and go out of my comfort zone.
PS – these gorgeous photos were taken at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad a few weeks ago before they closed! The bloom was absolutely beautiful this year and I hope to explore more fields in Europe soon 😉
